Week 2

Part 1:

Human are born with creation. However, it appears that only children are very much creative. This isn’t because that adults have lost their creation ability while growing up. It is the fear we are gaining while we grow up. When I was a kid, I usually would gather some cans or bowls and hit them with chopsticks, it was very silly and impolite if I did the same thing at this age. A friend of my mother spotted that I have the gift to play the drums, because even though I was a kid, the sound that I made didn't seem to be a disaster noise. Unfortunately, my parents just laughed and said that I couldn't even catch the right beat when playing piano or the violin. As I grew up, I finally persuaded my parents to let me take drum lessons. It was a disaster at the beginning, all I could make was annoying noises and my parents told me to quit. I started to question myself, I even skipped two drum classes because I was afraid what the teacher will think if I still couldn't play out the short solo taught 2 classes ago. However, I told myself that everyone isn't perfect, mistakes are what brings us improvements. I might not be the type that can handle an instrument easily, my path may be way tougher than others but this doesn’t mean I would succeed. I kept my parents words and my self-questioning aside and continued till now. Up to today I have performed on stage many times and I have created my own band. Your path might not be as fluent as others, but think it at the bright side, you have already gain much more experiences than others and you also know how to prevent them. What I believe is that if you want others to approbate on what you have done, you must be confident yourself first.

Part 2:

Yu minhong, is the founder and current CEO of New Oriental Education & Technology Group.  “He is one of 21st century 100 most in influence person”. What people don’t know is how he could be this successful. Yu was born in the rural area which there was lack of education. Fortunately her mother allowed him to go to school, which seems unusual because back then, every family needed a young man to help the field. He finished 9 years of education but couldn’t continue. In the rural area only the elderly child could go to high school, which was Yu’s sister.  Without high school education, Yu took the NCEE which is also called the “Gaokao” twice and both failed. People around the area all knew and started to laugh and taunt him. Even his family relatives started to stay away from him, they all think that Yu was a totally failure. However, Yu didn’t take any of these negative words into his heart. He took the NCEE another time and he finally made it to peeking university. Life was tough in university as everyone was mostly geniuses and was making fun of his failure past, he had an opportunity to study in America but he could not afford it. So he started to teach class outside university. He was caught by the school and was kicked out from school. Almost everything bad could happen all happened on Yu.  He could be depress or even despair, but he didn’t. He worked through the fear of everyone looking down on him. He finally succeeded in today and his story is a legend which inspires many people.
